美軍稱遭中國護衛艦監視 如今南海已非美國艦隊能自由橫行之地
據美國海軍網報導 5月11日，南沙，美國海軍駐紮在新加坡的瀕海戰鬥艦LCS-3駛近南威島，中國海軍護衛艦FFG-546(546艦鹽城號)緊密監視。 為避免糾紛，美國海軍反復強調，LCS-3當時航行在附近的「國際水域」。
解放軍海軍護衛艦FFG-546為054A型，從進攻和防禦能力方面，都完勝LCS-3。

而美國瀕海戰鬥艦LCS-3此次首巡南中國為期一周，也是未來駐新加坡的4艘LCS的例行節目，此次攜帶了MQ-8B無人機和MH-60直升機。 期間多次遭遇中國海軍戰艦，但都通過中美海軍《海上意外相遇規則》進行了處理。 LCS-3現已經回到了新加坡。
