10月4日上午，吴先生带着记者，查看了被破坏的冰雕作品。在入口处一个冰雕酒吧，放置在吧台上的一些摆件被推倒，或者没有了踪影。红色珊瑚的一些枝干被弄断，失去了原有的美感。一些历史人物和卡通人物受到了更严重的破坏，动漫人物喜羊羊的一个角掉落在脚边，杨贵妃的右侧胸部明显比左侧显得光滑，且冰块内部留下一圈白色的痕迹。“这是由于人手的温度作用于冰块，使得冰块融化空气进入而形成的。”
对此，吴先生显得很无奈。在冰雕作品“倒立的房子”，记者看到，与地面接触的房顶的烟囱部分，原本嵌入冰块内部的LED灯带已经裸露甚至悬空。 吴先生称，冰雕展示馆内常年温度在零下七度左右。这些冰雕作品的冰块是从外地运来的，造型师也是专门从哈尔滨请来长沙。“一旦遭到破坏，要重新雕塑很麻烦，需要新的冰块，还需要请造型师。”
由于展示馆内的监控暂时只能查看到24小时之内的情况，目前尚不清楚这些破坏行为是何人所为。负责人吴先生表示，将会加强对展示馆的管理，考虑制作一份文明观赏手册。
