今天劳驾诸位再度前来讨论“总统”提名人选的存废，秀柱实在心中难安，想想719全代会上的齐心欢呼，如今场景和人物依旧，但心思可能不同了。或许白云苍狗，世事难料，但秀柱此刻的心情可说是“世路如今已惯，此心到处悠然”。
不知道几分钟后我的身份会不会改变，但不变的是，我对党的热爱，以及我对“中华民国”的期盼。我说过我会尊重临全会的决定，党可以不要我，但我不会放弃党！
中国国民党，从两个甲子以前的兴中会、同盟会一路蜕变成长，她曾经是由大地上一群感受人民痛苦最深切的青年组合而成，创党的先辈认为“吾辈处今日之中国，无时无地不可以死”，因此发誓以鲜血冲出国族的生路。今天，我们在纪念总理的殿堂中集会，谁能不感受先烈们“我死，国生”的无私情怀？世俗利害的种种考虑，到这里，都不应该出现。
去年九合一败选后，党内四顾茫茫，支持者灰心丧志，在低迷的氛围中，本党几乎丧失了为2016大选奋战的勇气。今年年初，无论外界如何催促，党内天王再三婉拒参选，秀柱和多数党员同志一样忧心如焚，为了避免外界讥笑泱泱大党竟无一人应战，秀柱责无旁贷的投入初选，希望藉此唤醒大家共赴党难，力挽狂澜。
因此，从4月20日登记领表开始，秀柱循党内机制一步一脚印，上山下海寻求联署，冲破联署门坎和“防砖民调”的严格考验，完成所有程序，成为本党创党以来第一位经由民主初选机制所产生的“总统”候选人。
一路走来，虽然秀柱尝尽苦头、历尽磨难，但看到冷漠的人心被唤回，看到支持者槁木般的心志重新被点燃，终于我们的努力可以让群众相信：改变是可能的！
坦白说，过去十几年的两次政党轮替，轮替的只是人民彼此间的仇恨和嘲弄，既未抚平社会的裂痕，更未替这片曾经美丽的土地、淳朴的人民、潜力无穷的“国家”建立共同的愿景。
我们的“国家”今天出了问题，本党当然有责任。本党在是非价值、“国家”道路上的模糊、姑息、妥协、放弃，让本党在面对挑战时，已经没有勇气再说真话，说对的话，没有信心再捍卫我们的原则，捍卫我们的价值。总理遗嘱说我们要“唤醒民众”，但是现在本党还有几个人有勇气去唤醒民众，来认识到我们“国家”险峻的处境呢？
容我沉重指出，我们的“国家”已经陷入被边缘化的处境，外在的局势日趋不利，而我们却沉溺于政治恶斗、争权夺利的无穷内耗中，谁曾经仔细考虑该如何为此困局解套？我们原已窘迫的政经情势，在学运之后，更陷入动弹不得的困境，谁又真正用心探求出路在哪里？当政治人物都以赢得选举作为从政的最高原则，以保持权位作为唯一目的时，还有谁会思考“国家”的前途？还有谁会关心年轻人的未来？
一个政党可以失去一次选举，但是不可以失去她的灵魂；可以失去她的版图，但不可以失掉她对价值的坚持。成败胜负本是常态，但是失去党魂、党德与路线，这个党必将沦亡。而我们“国家”和本党是息息相关的，我们的党沦亡了，我们的“国家”又将何去何从？
这三个月来，如同参加初选开始，我从来没有一丝懈怠；一路走来，选民的热烈支持让我无比振奋，国人的殷切寄望更令我充满信心！我深知，要人民重拾对本党的信心多么不易，为“国家”确定一条正确的道路更是何其艰难。但这正是我的参选初衷，也是本党当前的重责大任！而今尽管遭遇种种横逆，我心如初，无怨无悔！
本党目前的两岸论述是“九二共识、一中各表”。我完全了解这个主张为两岸交流做出了卓越的历史贡献，但是它仅维持两岸关系脆弱的稳定。做为本党的“总统”参选人，我希望再进一步，为两岸创造和平，这是中华民国“总统”责无旁贷的使命，因此我提出在五个前提下签署两岸和平协议，这不是投降，更不是卖台，而是我们与人民同命共生的愿力！和平是人民的共识，和平协议当然符合主流民意！如果本党的“总统”参选人不敢坚持这点，这才是违反党章，背离民意！
秀柱是50年的资深党员，从政以来奉献党国，无怨无悔，几次党最艰困的时候，从未离她而去。这段期间，秀柱陷入有生以来最痛苦的长考，我要不要为了捍卫我的价值理念，与我深爱的党对簿公堂？我要不要回应广大的支持者，而让党的同志们为了秀柱一人的参选资格而针锋相对？我不忍亦不愿看党走向分裂的歧途，但更痛心我所爱的党走向沉沦，让民众对这个党的信任消失殆尽！
我一再指出，我对程序正义的忧心。孔子说为政之道：“民无信不立”。国不可无信，党可不可以没有诚信呢？有人说，今天是个“换柱”的全代会，我不同意，在我心里，今天是个让秀柱取得党代表同志支持的全代会。我知道，待会将决定秀柱提名资格的存废，此时不禁让我想起先父在他受难记中所讲的一段话：“将来有机会为‘国家’做事，仍当尽忠职守，切勿为名利参与政治，合则留，不合则去，切勿恋栈”。所以，我要恳请各位同志，不要为洪秀柱着想，请为国民党在未来的台湾，应该扮演何种角色着想。中华民国，是华人民主的标杆，本党今天的决议，不只党员在看，全台湾人民在看，所有关心华人民主进程者，也都在看！然而，我真的不希望变成“台湾第一次，世界都在看”！
在这次选举过后，未来当我们谈到民主制度的建立，以及程序正当性的捍卫时，本党今日所为，究竟会如何载入辉煌的党史呢？
“天下为公”是“我国”政治的理想境界，也是我们总理中山先生最爱书写以明志的理念。天下，为天下人所共有，同样的，我们的党也不是只属于全体党员，她也是台湾人民所共有，今天我们的选择，是否也要向人民负责、也要向历史交代呢？我们是否要依社会的观感、人民的认知来决定我们相信什么，还是要因选举考虑而牺牲制度，反而让本党陷于丧失诚信、党格与党魂的险境？
我坚定地宣告，我是永远的中国国民党党员，本党必须成为一个让支持者骄傲的选项，必须作为稳定两岸和平的一股力量，必须去制衡民粹的氛围，必须让中道理性的人，有一个投射的希望。而这也是我参选以来一直努力的方向！
我重申，临全会如果废止我的提名，在合理性、正当性和程序合法性是有高度争议的，秀柱无法认同，但身为党员，只有被迫接受。
最后请容许我挥挥衣袖，先行离开会场，留给大家冷静思考的空间，此心可鉴，真情不变，“孤臣可弃，但绝不折节”！党可以不要我，秀柱绝不会放弃党！天佑本党！天佑台湾！天佑“中华民国”！谢谢大家！

【环球网综合报道】10月17日下午，国民党召开“临时全国代表大会”，确定同意废止洪秀柱代表参选2016年台湾地区领导人选举提名案，下午4时许，台湾“挺柱”民众在意见表达区抱头痛哭，并大喊选主席，洪秀柱离开后，人群渐散。
国民党临全会今天下午在国父纪念馆登场，许多声援“立法院”副院长洪秀柱的支持者，接近中午就现身国父纪念馆，并呼口号抗议“换柱”行动，还有支持民众用冥纸排“悼KMT”字样抗议，也有人在场外长跪，表达对“换柱”的不满。
台湾“中央社”称，由于“临全会”举办时间刚好是假日，国父纪念馆内有许多大陆游客参观，对于“挺柱”民众抗议活动，不断议论纷纷。下午1时许，“挺柱”团体转赴逸仙路附近的意见表达区内观看场内转播，听到洪秀柱上台致词时，“挺柱”声不断，甚至有支持者还忍不住拭泪，洪秀柱在场内致词完后，离开场内，但并未走出会场。
台北市政府警察局下午1时30分统计，现场群众约300人;下午2时许，转赴到意见表达区的“挺柱”民众，不断大喊“挺住”，直到国民党主席朱立伦在场内发言，民众开始高喊“下台”，并倒大拇指喝倒采。
下午3时许，“小辣椒后援会长”林正杰在场外呼吁，若国民党要“废柱”，就号召民众冲入国父纪念馆抗议，但随即被其他声援民众安抚，并不断用麦克风告知洪秀柱会随后现身讲话。
报道称，“挺柱”团体在意见表达区内放有液晶屏幕，下午3时许，投票开始，“挺柱”支持者每个都专注站在屏幕前聆听投票结果，下午4时初，国民党“临全会”确定同意废止洪秀柱代表参选提名案，“挺柱”民众得知结果后，抱头痛哭，直到洪秀柱现身致词，情绪才缓和，抗议民众也在洪秀柱致词完，纷纷散去。
